CHILDCARE SUPPORT OPTIONS:

Childcare can be a significant expense, but there are several schemes available to help working families manage the cost. Below, we’ve outlined the key support options for children aged 5 and over to ensure you’re getting the most out of the available benefits when using Tuition Republic as your registered childcare provider.

1. TAX FREE CHILDCARE:

This scheme is available for parents of children up to the age of 11 (or 16 if your child is disabled). For every £8 you pay into your childcare account, the government adds £2, up to a maximum of £2,000 per year, per child (£4,000 for disabled children).

How it works:

  1. Set up an online childcare account.
  2. For every £8 you contribute, the government adds £2.
  3. You can use this money to pay Tuition Republic as your registered provider.

2. UNIVERSAL CREDIT:

If you’re working and on Universal Credit, you can reclaim up to 85% of your childcare costs, up to a maximum of £1,014 per month for one child and £1,739 for two or more children. This support is available until your child turns 16. You can claim during school holidays or throughout the year when using Tuition Republic for your childcare needs.

Key points:

  • You must be in work and on Universal Credit.
  • You can claim for children up to the age of 16.
  • The reimbursement covers up to 85% of your childcare costs when using Tuition Republic.

3. CHILD TAX CREDIT:

If you’re receiving Child Tax Credit, you can continue to claim this support until the 31 August following your child’s 16th birthday. This tax credit helps working families with the cost of raising children, and you can claim childcare expenses as part of your entitlement, including when you choose Tuition Republic as your provider.

Key points:

  • Available until the end of August after your child turns 16.
  • You must be receiving Child Tax Credit to qualify.
  • You can use your Child Tax Credit to help cover the costs at Tuition Republic.

4. CHILDCARE VOUCHERS:

While this scheme is now closed to new entrants, if you’re already enrolled in a Childcare Voucher scheme through your employer, you can continue to use the vouchers to pay for childcare until your child turns 15 (or 16 if they are disabled). These vouchers can be used to pay Tuition Republic directly.

Key points:

  • Available to those already enrolled in the scheme.
  • Use vouchers until your child turns 15 (or 16 if disabled) to pay Tuition Republic.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SCHEME:

Each scheme has different eligibility criteria, and you can’t always combine them. In general, if you’re eligible for Tax-Free Childcare, it’s often the best option for those who aren’t receiving Universal Credit. However, if you’re on Universal Credit or still claiming Child Tax Credit, those may offer greater savings depending on your circumstances.

To benefit from these schemes, you must use a registered childcare provider like Tuition Republic.

Discover how much financial support you could receive by using the government’s official Childcare Calculator. This tool helps you estimate your savings and plan for the future.

Let Tuition Republic help you take advantage of these benefits while providing your child with top-quality educational and childcare services.
