The Framework for Excellence

What is the Framework for Excellence?

The Framework for Excellence at Hafs Academy establishes the guiding principles that underpin our approach to education. These principles reflect our shared vision for providing a balanced, faith-centered education and define the standards that lead to excellence when applied effectively. The Framework serves as a benchmark for setting high standards and measuring our progress as a school.

In addition to this, the Framework for Excellence is designed as a practical, supportive tool to drive continuous improvement across all areas of the Academy. It includes examples of best practices, inspired by outstanding teaching and learning methods, which align with our Islamic ethos. These resources, such as lesson plans, materials, and teaching strategies, are available to enhance our educational approach and ensure the highest quality experience for our students.

The Five Principles
The Framework for Excellence consists of five principles:

‘Powerful knowledge’

At Hafs Academy, our goal is to empower young people with knowledge and skills rooted in Islamic values and academic excellence. Mastery of language and mathematical fluency are key to understanding and engaging with the world, forming a central part of our curriculum.

We prepare students for success in life and their responsibilities to the community, fostering talents and encouraging perseverance. Inspiring teaching unlocks complex ideas, sparking intellectual and spiritual growth. True knowledge enables students to think critically, challenge the norm, and grow into confident, capable individuals.

‘Education with character’

Academic success is important, and exam results play a key role. However, at Hafs Academy, education also means building character, compassion, and a sense of service. Students are encouraged to face challenges, develop resilience, and work independently and in teams.

We aim to inspire and prepare young people to lead, care, and contribute to their communities. Our goal is for them to look back on a joyful education that shaped their character and prepared them for life’s challenges.

‘Leadership in every role

Our children are the leaders of tomorrow, and we expect them to begin today by embracing opportunities to lead and taking responsibility for themselves and others. At Hafs Academy, every adult is also a leader, setting the tone and expectations through their words, actions, and demeanour, always prioritising what is right for the children.

Formal leaders create an environment where others can excel, fostering high standards, nurturing growth, and encouraging a culture of teamwork and leadership. All leaders act with integrity, build strong relationships, and strive for excellence, ensuring Hafs Academy remains a happy and confident community for all.

At Hafs Academy, we believe in continuous improvement. No matter how good we are, we can always be better. We seek new ideas from within and outside the Academy, learn from each other, adapt good practices, and work collaboratively to enhance our approach.

We are committed to making every decision and every pound count, ensuring the best outcomes for our students and community.
