Safeguarding

Hafs Academy Safeguarding Policy Childlinelogo

Safeguarding is the action we take to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. At Hafs Academy, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All staff, students, and visitors play a role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students.

Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2024) is statutory guidance issued by the Department for Education, which all schools must adhere to in their duty to safeguard children. Children are defined as anyone under the age of 18, and safeguarding includes physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.

At Hafs Academy, we are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for your child. We offer a balanced curriculum that educates students on what a healthy lifestyle looks like and helps them identify risks and how to stay safe.

We understand that safeguarding is not just about physical safety. Emotional and mental wellbeing are also crucial. Strong relationships, healthy emotional development, and open discussions on sensitive topics such as mental health, self-harm, and online safety are key to keeping children safe.

As your child grows, we support you in understanding how to keep them safe in different situations, including when they’re not at home, on social media, and online. We encourage you to have open conversations and provide resources to help you.
