Parent Partnership at Hafs Academy
At Hafs Academy, we value the role of parents and carers as partners in nurturing the development and success of our students. Our approach is built on a foundation of shared trust, confidence, and understanding between parents/carers, students, and the Academy. We believe that collaboration is key to every student’s success.
Strengthening the Home-School Partnership
We ensure open and effective communication with parents/carers through the following:
- A parent induction session at the start of the academic year in July.
- A comprehensive parent handbook detailing essential information about the Academy.
- Regular Academy newsletters to keep parents informed about school events and updates.
- A student planner for each child to help track progress and communicate homework.
- Recognition of student achievements through awards and prizes.
- Regular contact with your child’s form tutor for updates and support.
- Opportunities for direct access to subject teachers for subject-specific concerns.
- Progress reports twice a year and one full report annually.
- Early transition meetings with form tutors to support new students.
- An annual meeting with subject teachers to discuss progress and goals.
- Incident reports to inform parents of any issues promptly.
- Utilising modern technology to enhance communication between home and school.
Supporting Positive Outcomes
We encourage parents and carers to support their children with a positive outlook, fostering a culture of success, recognition, and celebration at Hafs Academy. If a student fails to meet expectations, we see it as an opportunity to guide them towards improvement:
- Reminders of behavioural and academic expectations will be issued.
- Continued issues may result in sanctions, such as detention.
- Parents/carers will be invited for a discussion to collaboratively develop a programme of support and monitoring for the student.
Our goal is to bring out the best in every student by working together with parents/carers. We expect every student to strive for their personal best while respecting the learning environment of others. Disruptive behaviour that impacts the Academy experience for others will not be tolerated.
By fostering a strong partnership with parents and carers, we aim to create an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and spiritually, embodying the values of Hafs Academy.
